To say the words: إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَیْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
وبقيت زوجه فترة لم تعلم بمقتله، فلما أخبرت به حمدت الله واسترجعت واستبشرت واحتسبته عند الله عز وجل، وقالت: “وهل كنا ننتظر غير ذلك؟”، وفرحت أنه نال ما تمنى، وكانت نيتها إكمال وصيته ببقائها في ديار الإسلام وتربية ولدها في كنف المجهادين

His wife didn’t know of his death for a while, but when she found out she gave praise to Allah, pronounced “Surely to Allah we belong, and surely to Him do we return” and rejoiced, considering him worthy of Allah’s reward in the Hereafter, Glorified and Sublime be He. She said: “Did we expect anything else?” and was happy that he obtained what he wished. She determined to fulfill his will and remain in the lands of Islam and raise her son among the mujahideen
The phrase, meaning “Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we return”, is often said by Muslims when hearing of someone’s death or when being tested in some way. It has its origin in Quran 2:156 which, with the verses preceding and following it, reads:
وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُم بِشَىْءٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْخَوْفِ وَٱلْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْوَٰلِ وَٱلْأَنفُسِ وَٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
We will certainly test you with a touch of fear and famine and loss of property, life, and crops. Give good news to those who patiently endure
ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَآ أَصَـٰبَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌۭ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّآ إِلَيْهِ رَٰجِعُونَ
who say, when struck by a disaster, “Indeed to Allah we belong and indeed to Him we will return.”
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَٰتٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَرَحْمَةٌۭ ۖ وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُهْتَدُونَ
They are the ones who will receive Allah’s blessings and mercy. And it is they who are [rightly] guided
